Because not all weddings take place in the middle of summer and it’s still possible to enjoy beautiful days in early fall, we show you how to make a ceremony arch for your big day.
The charm of bamboo
Choose a dozen bamboo canes of about 2 m and clear them of all their leaves and other small branches. Cut them if necessary. Separate your bundle into three parts: the wider bamboo will be used to form the two poles (three or four canes on each side), while the thinner ones will form the top of the structure.
A discreet assembly
You need to tie your bamboo together at both ends with thick wire. Then camouflage this inelegant tie with thick twine or burlap.
Anchored to the ground
The trick to keeping your poles stable and upright is to use two cast-iron umbrella stands. Take two fairly thick bamboos and secure them into the parasol legs before stabilizing them with the clamping wheel. You can then lean your bundle of bamboo against it by attaching it with clamps.
A voluptuous dressing
Now place the third bundle of fine bamboo perpendicularly on top of the posts. Use two thin white curtains tied with string on the top of the structure and on the pillars to make drapes. Arrange flowers and branches all around the arch. As for the umbrella legs, just hide them with potted plants.
