The discovery
During a trip to the islands of Sumatra, Borneo and Java, Jean-François Couderc, 26 years old, discovered bamboo habitats, the result of ancestral Indonesian craftsmanship.
He then decided to import a dozen pieces for a beach restaurant project.
1995
The meeting
Jean-François rencontre un jeune étudiant javanais. Ils décident de s’associer pour fabriquer et importer des modèles d’abris de jardin en bambou (appelés aussi gazebos ou paillotes) adaptés au marché français.
Cette rencontre s’avère efficace puisque durant une vingtaine d’années ils conçoivent et commercialisent des paillotes et du mobilier en bambou ainsi que des tiges, clôtures et divers produits dérivés du bambou.
2014
L'envol
Théo, Jean-François's son, takes charge of the entire marketing of the bamboo huts, from design to delivery, always in close collaboration with his father's Indonesian partner.
He extends the distribution to the whole of France and the United States (Florida) and neighbouring countries and develops the visibility of the company through the website and social networks.
